Education
Having earned his B.S. degree in Zoology from the Clemson University in 1979, Dr. Miller went on to receive his DMD degree in 1983 from The Medical University of South Carolina. After dental school, Dr. Miller completed an orthodontic residency at the Medical College of Virginia in 1985.
In Practice
After completing his orthodontic residency, Dr. Miller served proudly in the USAF where he was Chief of Orthodontics at Clark Air Base in the Philippines for three years. Dr. Miller began practicing in Culpeper in 1988 and became a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics in 1992. Dr. Miller is a past president of the Virginia Association of Orthodontics. He is a pioneer in the area of orthopedic correctors, having developed the Flip Lock™ Herbst device in the early 1990’s. More recently, he assisted Dr. Duncan Higgins, the inventor of the Crossbow™ device, to broaden its use as an efficient overbite corrector and our most state of the art device used just before braces.

Dr. Miller is a respected member of the orthodontic field, regularly contributing professional publications to orthodontics journals worldwide. He is a member of numerous dental and orthodontic organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, the World Orthodontic Federation, the Southern Association of Orthodontics, Virginia Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, Virginia Dental Association, and the Northern Virginia Dental Society. He also led the Spear Study Club of Northern Virginia and is a member of the Northern Virginia Orthodontic Study Club. Most recently, Dr Miller was accepted into The Angle Society’s North Atlantic chapter upon presenting his original research to fellow orthodontists in Barcelona, Spain in March 2012.
